A Comprehensive 4-Part In-Person Training Series for Practitioners
Advanced Foot & Limb Mechanics
Additional Workshops:
Mastering Foot Mechanics
Foot and Spinal Mechanics
Mastering Gait Analysis
Elevate your practice and empower your clients with our Gait & Biomechanics Masterclass, a transformative four-part workshop series designed for practitioners who want to gain a deep, practical understanding of the body’s mechanics—from the feet to the spine. This comprehensive in-person series offers progressive learning through four dynamic workshops, each building on the previous one, ensuring that you’re equipped with the tools and knowledge to assess, analyse, and optimise human movement effectively.
Whether you’re an experienced therapist, movement specialist, or health professional, the Gait and Biomechanics Masterclass delivers advanced insights and practical techniques to revolutionise your client care approach. This series is specifically designed with a client-centred focus, equipping you to teach clients how to self-mobilise their bodies, promoting long-term, sustainable improvements in their movement and recovery.
Workshop Two
Advanced Foot & Limb Mechanics
Expand Beyond the Foot: Integrating the Limb
This two-day practical workshop builds upon the foundational concepts introduced in the Mastering Foot Mechanics workshop by expanding the scope to include the entire lower limb—covering the foot, knee, and upper limb mechanics. Designed to deepen both theoretical and practical understanding, this workshop equips participants with the tools to evaluate and improve the function and mobility of the entire limb during gait.
Participants will expand their grasp of limb anatomy and movement, examining how the foot, knee, and upper limb work together as part of a kinetic chain. By exploring these areas through a three-dimensional model, attendees will gain a comprehensive view of limb mechanics and how foot function affects the entire body. The workshop will focus on evaluating the limb both in static resting positions and dynamic motion, allowing participants to intervene and optimise function holistically, from the foot to the upper limb.
The workshop’s practical component builds upon the previous Functional Movement Assessment, enabling participants to evaluate their own and others’ limb mechanics more comprehensively. These assessments will provide deeper insights into how the body’s interconnectedness affects posture, movement, and function, leading to actionable interventions for both static and dynamic alignment. A key feature is that participants will not only see but feel how small changes in foot and limb mechanics can have significant effects throughout the body.
Just like the Mastering Foot Mechanics workshop, all theoretical and practical content will be available online before attending the in-person session. This allows participants to arrive well-prepared, maximising the time for hands-on learning during the workshop.
Key Learning Points:
Expanded exploration of three-dimensional closed-chain biomechanics of the entire limb
Evaluating limb mechanics, including the foot, knee, and upper limb, in both static stance and dynamic movement
Establishing a holistic, process-driven approach to assess and improve limb mechanics
Learning movement-based interventions to treat common pathologies affecting the entire limb
Key Practical Points:
Mobilising the limb in three dimensions using advanced movement-based techniques
Conducting a Functional Movement Assessment for limb mechanics with a process-driven outcome
Understanding and evaluating dynamic and static positioning of the entire limb
Learning how to self-assess limb mechanics for long-term health outcomes
Key Takeaways:
Understanding the interaction between foot, knee, and upper limb
Advanced techniques for limb mobilisation
Practical movement assessments to evaluate limb mechanics
Effective interventions to improve dynamic and static limb function
Detailed Workshop Outline:
Day 1:
This day provides the theoretical and practical underpinnings of advanced limb mechanics, expanding upon foot mechanics to include the knee and upper limb.
Limb Anatomy and Planes of Motion
Foot, Knee, and Upper Limb Segments during Gait
Interconnectedness of Foot, Knee, and Upper Limb Mechanics
Observing and Understanding Static Limb Positions
Practical Session: Static Limb Position Assessment
Observing and Understanding Dynamic Limb Motion
Practical Session: Dynamic Limb Motion Assessment
Introduction to Closed-Chain Limb Mobilisation
Day 2:
This day focuses entirely on practical applications, using advanced closed-chain mobilisation techniques through hands-on learning.
Practical Session: Pronation and Supination of the Foot and Knee
Practical Session: Knee and Upper Limb Mechanics during Initial Contact Phase
Practical Session: Knee and Upper Limb Mechanics during Mid-Stance Phase
Practical Session: Full-Limb Functional Movement Assessment
This Advanced Foot & Limb Mechanics workshop provides an immersive, process-driven experience that expands upon the foot mechanics learned in the previous workshop. By the end, participants will have the knowledge and confidence to integrate advanced limb mechanics techniques into their practice, helping clients improve their movement, reduce pain, and enhance overall limb function.
Why ?
This series is designed to help practitioners elevate their ability to assess and treat movement dysfunctions by offering a practical, hands-on approach to biomechanics. By the end of this series, you will be fully equipped to implement these advanced techniques with your clients, improving their movement patterns, reducing pain, and promoting long-term functional health. Each workshop builds on the last, providing a structured, progressive learning experience that you can apply immediately in your practice.
Why should you attend?
Human movement is complex, and dysfunctions in one area of the body can have a cascading effect on the rest of the kinetic chain. Whether your clients struggle with foot pain, knee issues, or spinal misalignment, being able to assess and address these problems holistically is critical. This series offers an in-depth, hands-on approach that will provide you with immediate, actionable skills to help clients improve their movement patterns, prevent injury, and enhance their overall functional health. You’ll stand out as a practitioner who not only understands the intricacies of movement but can effectively treat it.
Who is this for?
This series is designed for health professionals, physical therapists, chiropractors, personal trainers, movement therapists, and bodywork practitioners who want to enhance their ability to assess and treat movement dysfunctions. Whether you’re looking to refine your expertise or broaden your knowledge in biomechanics, this series will give you the skills you need to offer more comprehensive care to your clients.
So What:
By attending this series, you’re not just learning theory—you’re acquiring practical, hands-on skills that can be immediately implemented into your practice. You’ll gain confidence in your ability to assess foot, limb, pelvic, and spinal mechanics, diagnose gait dysfunctions, and develop tailored interventions for your clients. As a practitioner, this will set you apart, allowing you to offer more effective, comprehensive care that addresses the root cause of movement problems, rather than just the symptoms. The result? Better outcomes for your clients and a stronger reputation for you as a movement expert.
How will it benefit your practice?
This series is designed to provide a structured, step-by-step learning experience that builds your understanding of the body’s functional biomechanics. Each workshop offers a mix of theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring that by the end, you will have a thorough, process-driven approach to assessing and improving your clients’ movement and learn about how you move too.. You’ll leave with the tools to diagnose movement dysfunctions confidently and provide interventions that create lasting improvements. From gait analysis to closed-chain mobilisation techniques, you’ll gain skills that can and will transform your approach to client care.

Workshops Feedback & Comments
‘ I enjoyed the topic and presentation, presented by Riccardo. He did a good job and made sure all participates understood content, going over topics a number of times to make sure we all understood and were comfortable moving on’
Keith 2 /6/24
‘I was very engaged throughout this workshop even though a lot of fairly complex topics were introduced from a perspective I had not previously considered’
Jennifer 30/8/24
Loved Riccardo's modality - awareness of and working with tendons to rebalance the body - starting with the feet. Issues since my teens including twisted toes and jammed metatarsals - I could feel the difference in the problem foot after a demo treatment at the workshop!
Robert 30/8/24
I can directly use this information in both my Reflexology and massage modalities.
Jill 30/8/24
More of Riccardo please - much more. Love what he has to offer, even though the workshop was a tiny start to his modality!
